An upcoming compilation here with a unique premise, featuring compositions from KiloWatts & Dan Covan, Welder, Nalepa, and more. The I.O.T. record label has traveled to the corners of the world to collect audio samples from the local people and their environments for their ‘Expedisound’ series. Past releases featured Africa and Mongolia. The upcoming compilation features the Chinese Naxi territory, at the heart of the pre-himalayan landscapes of Yunnan. Included in the package is a CD of the electronic compositions, a CD of the traditional Bashaxili music of the Naxi people, and a documentary film of the project. Preorders are available now, for a release date in March 2012.
